TRANSAFRICA SPECIAL TRIPS 2008-2009 TransAfrica Special Trips Calendar

The updated programs of TransAfrica Special Trips of 2008-2009: with the new wonderful journey dedicated to all the traditional festival in August, the new single departure travels dedicated to a particular highlight program for the new year, and many several departures travels all the year long, to discover the West African culture.

Knowing how to travel well is a skill: it entails exploring, first-hand, the culture and spirit of the peoples that you visit, and brings you into direct contact with their customs and traditions.

The philosophy that drives and characterizes these journeys is our will and readiness to see the best of the country, at the most opportune moment, in optimal conditions. These journeys are truly unique as they bring you into contact with tribal festivals and cultural events, making the journeys significantly more special.

The itineraries that feature in this series, are the fruit of years of research: the exploration of new and different places, the meetings with priests, kings and chiefs of the village, meetings with the spiritual touchstones of village life (the ‘griots’ and the ‘marabuts’). As a result we now have the opportunity to share with you the intricacies of ancestral rites and voodoo ceremonies, the extraordinary clay-hewn architecture of the region and the bright, vibrant, colorful markets. As we follow these itineraries, we are always accompanied by guides who can guarantee a sound knowledge and understanding of the terrain and of the different ethnic peoples who live there – their history and the thousand legends of their country.

Special trips can be organized with full hotel accommodation or with a combination of hotel and tent accommodation – either way, the best possible comfort is always provided for our clients, in the interior as well as in the larger cities.

For special trips, we use vehicles adapted to African roads: in perfect condition, equipped with air-conditioning and driven by experienced drivers. Tran Africa provides camping equipment, with spacious tents, comfortable mattresses, mobile shower units, tables, chairs and lamps.

Meals are particularly well prepared by professional chefs: predominantly European dishes that integrate ethnic specialties and local produce, accompanied by a choice of French, South African or Italian wines.

All the programs in calendar - the travels with a single departure and those with many departures during the year - do not include the international flight from the country of origin.

Special Trips are directed by Roberto Cerea.
