MealsFood is an integral part of the different pleasures offered by a trip. Tasting the local dishes helps us to understand the realities of the population we come across. This is our philosophy, without missing personal cares or requirements. When lodging in hotels, breakfast and dinner will be prepared and served by the restaurant staff. In the capital cities they serve international dishes of fine quality and standards whereas in the small towns or villages the food might be rather simple and easy but hygienical and safe. In West Africa rice predominates with the always well accepted French-fries. Meat is used to be chicken, beef, lamb and goat. These could frequently be available in the desert or in the Sahel area, while fresh and good fish along the coastline. During the nights at campsites, our professional cooks, all well trained in French, Italian and local dishes, serve abundant dinner, offering fresh food as more as possible. They also prepare the lunch (picnic), which is served, where possible, in a "bouvette", the African bar that allows us to have a seat and to enjoy a cool drink. If a bar is not available, we can have a seat on mats under a cool mango or acacia shade in the heart of the African nature. |
